Lofer Alpine World

Ride the cable car to the top station, then hike up to the Grubhörndl summit. At the top, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the Saalachtal. As an alternative or addition, a gentle walk to the idyllic Marmorsee is highly recommended.

The Vorderkaserklamm is one of the most impressive natural landmarks in the Saalachtal and a popular excursion destination for families, couples and nature lovers. Located just a few minutes by car from Lofer, visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking gorge featuring roaring waterfalls, steep rock walls and well-secured wooden walkways.

Over thousands of years, the waters of the Weißbach have carved their way through the rock, creating a unique gorge that can now be explored along a well-maintained boardwalk of around 400 meters. Especially on warm summer days, the cool and humid air inside the gorge provides a refreshing escape from the heat.

The Vorderkaserklamm is perfectly suited for a family outing. The path through the gorge is well developed, varied and easy to manage for children (sturdy footwear is recommended). Informational panels along the route offer fascinating insights into geology, water and the formation of the gorge.

At the end of the gorge, a small rest area invites visitors to pause and relax – ideal for a short break before heading back or combining the visit with a hike or a stop at a nearby mountain hut.

Lamprechtshöhle

The Lamprechtshöhle is one of the most impressive natural attractions in the Saalachtal. Located in the district of St. Martin near Lofer, it is just a few minutes away from Lofer. As one of the longest through caves in the world, it offers visitors a fascinating insight into the hidden world beneath the earth’s surface.

Over thousands of years, the waters of the Saalach River have created an extensive and complex cave system. Seisenberg Gorge

The Seisenbergklamm is located near Weißbach bei Lofer and can be reached quickly from Lofer. Roaring waterfalls, narrow rock passages and well-secured wooden walkways make this gorge an impressive experience for visitors of all ages.

The gorge was opened to visitors as early as the 19th century and is now considered one of the oldest accessible gorges in the Alpine region. Over thousands of years, the crystal-clear waters of the Weißbach have shaped a fascinating landscape of rock, water and light.
